Mental Health First Aid participants learn how to confidently:

  • Spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health conditions including anxiety, addiction, depression, and suicidal crisis.

  • Hold effective conversations about mental ill-health and listen non-judgmentally.

  • Provide practical first aid to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem and guide them to the right self-help or professional support.

  • Address their own mental health needs proactively.

This course follows the Mental Health First Aid curriculum from the National Council on Mental Wellbeing and on completion learners will receive a Mental Health First Aid certificate.

Online Mental Health First Aid training is made up of both individual learning activities (2 hours) and live Zoom sessions (6.5 hours). Individual learning includes a combination of videos, workbook activities and reading to be completed in advance of the live sessions.
