Mental Health First Aid participants learn how to confidently:
Spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health conditions including anxiety, addiction, depression, and suicidal crisis.
Hold effective conversations about mental ill-health and listen non-judgmentally.
Provide practical first aid to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem and guide them to the right self-help or professional support.
Address their own mental health needs proactively.
This course follows the Mental Health First Aid curriculum from the National Council on Mental Wellbeing and on completion learners will receive a Mental Health First Aid certificate.
Online Mental Health First Aid training is made up of both individual learning activities (2 hours) and live Zoom sessions (6.5 hours). Individual learning includes a combination of videos, workbook activities and reading to be completed in advance of the live sessions.
